New Southbound Scholarship

New Southbound Policy Elite Study Program

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs established the New Southbound Elite Training Program primarily to promote the implementation of Taiwan's New Southbound Policy and enhance diplomatic, economic, and cultural exchanges with countries in Southeast Asia, South Asia, and the South Pacific.

The goal of this program is to cultivate professionals with expertise and an understanding of local cultures, enabling them to play an active role in government agencies, businesses, and non-governmental organizations, thereby strengthening Taiwan's cooperation with these countries.

Eligibility

Applicants must be sophomore to senior university students from New Southbound Policy countries.

Applicants must not hold a passport from China (including Hong Kong and Macau) or Taiwan (Republic of China).

Applicants must not receive any financial support from the Taiwanese government, institutions, or educational organizations.
